Recently I was invited to appear on the relatively new podcast The Mad Mamluks. The conversation was a lot of fun — lively, food-focused, and full of good questions from the three energetic brothers who created and produce the show: Amir Saeed, a scholar of Shariah from Al-Azhar University; Syed Imran Muneer (SIM), an IT professional; and Mohammed Sharif (Moga), a mathematician. All three are based in Chicago. I enjoyed discussing how My Halal Kitchen began and what sparked my passion for food.

The interview covers my journey with My Halal Kitchen, the influences that shaped my approach to cooking, and the ways I try to share accessible halal recipes and food knowledge. It was a warm, engaging discussion and I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed taking part.
