Before I dive into today’s post, I need to share something personal—I can’t help but gush a little. My daughter turns one today. It’s incredible how quickly this year has passed. I know every parent says that, but it’s true: last year on this date my husband and I sat in a doctor’s office wondering whether our baby would arrive that day. I was having contractions off and on, and just before midnight it was finally time—our little girl was born. It’s a moment I’ll never forget.
I’ll share photos and stories from her birthday party and a look back at this first year next week, but for now, let’s get back to the recipes.
One of our family’s favorite holiday traditions is the big Christmas morning breakfast. Each year we go all out—special breakfast treats alongside a hearty country-style spread. This season I’m planning to make my Breakfast Pie, which I shared earlier this week. We include all the classic fixings, and my husband and son help set the table. The meal is usually so filling it carries us well into the afternoon.
We’ve kept this tradition for years, and it’s the part of Christmas morning I love most. I always try to make sure we don’t have anywhere to be that morning so we can enjoy unhurried time together at home—opening presents, reading the Christmas story, and sharing our special breakfast.
After breakfast the day usually slows down in the best way: a warm fire, playing with new toys, and rearranging the living room to make room for everything that Santa brought. It’s relaxed, cozy, and full of small family moments.
With the season in mind, I wanted to share a round-up of some of our favorite breakfast recipes that are perfect for holiday mornings or any lazy weekend. These are recipes my family returns to again and again—easy to prepare, delicious, and great for sharing with guests if you’re hosting a holiday brunch.

Do you have special Christmas traditions? Many families I know either prepare a big breakfast in the morning or wait until later for a festive dinner. We prefer the relaxed breakfast approach, but either way the most important part is spending time together.
