Recipe Tips

  • Preheat properly: Make sure the griddle and oil are hot before you start cooking.
  • Cook sausage thoroughly: Cook until no pink remains and juices run clear.
  • Adjust heat: Keep the griddle at a moderate temperature so the tortellini heats through without burning.

Variation Ideas

  • Sausage: Use sliced kielbasa, polska sausage, bacon, or shredded chicken.
  • Vegetables: Add mushrooms, zucchini, asparagus, onion, squash, or broccoli — fresh is best.
  • Tortellini type: Use cheese-filled, meat-filled, or even swap for cooked spaghetti.
  • Spices and herbs: Try garlic powder, red pepper flakes, Italian seasoning, basil, or parsley. Add fresh mozzarella for richness.
  • Creamy option: Stir in cream cheese for a creamy tortellini version.
  • Sauce: Top with warmed marinara for a saucier finish.
