- Ribbon (1/4 inch works well)
- Scissors
- Stapler or clear tape
- Ruler
How to Make a Paper Pilgrim Bonnet
Begin with a large sheet of construction paper and cut the shape following the bonnet template shown in the photos. The template is easy to trace and duplicate for multiple bonnets.
Fold the edge that has no notches up about 2 inches. This fold will form the bonnet’s brim when finished.
Next fold along the side with the notches. Fold the center panel down, then bring the left and right sides toward the center. Secure the top and bottom with a staple or run a strip of tape up the back to hold the shape.
Measure and cut ribbon to fit the child or adult who will wear the bonnet. Attach a ribbon tie under the folded brim on each side using tape or a staple. These ties should hang down and be tied beneath the chin to keep the bonnet in place.

How to Make a Pilgrim Bonnet Out of Paper
Ingredients
- 1 piece 12″ x 18″ white construction paper
- 1/4 inch ribbon cut to size
- 1 pair Scissors
- 1 Stapler or clear tape
