This Red, White, and Blueberry dessert is a perfect addition to 4th of July, Memorial Day, Labor Day or any patriotic gathering. It features three distinct layers that combine into a refreshing, crowd-pleasing treat. The recipe is simple to prepare and makes a colorful, make-ahead dessert that friends and family will request again and again.

Red, White, and Blueberry Dessert
Ingredients
1 box strawberry gelatin
1 box blueberry gelatin
2 packages unflavored gelatin
1 cup sugar
1 cup evaporated milk
1 (8 oz) package cream cheese
1 pint blueberries
Directions
Prepare one layer at a time in an 8 x 8-inch glass pan. Chill each layer thoroughly before adding the next so the layers set cleanly.

First layer: Prepare the strawberry gelatin according to package directions. Pour into the prepared pan and refrigerate until firm, about 4 hours.

Second layer: In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and evaporated milk and warm gently. Sprinkle the unflavored gelatin over the warm mixture and stir until dissolved. Transfer the warm mixture to a blender, add the cream cheese and blend until smooth and fully combined. Pour this creamy mixture over the chilled strawberry layer and return the pan to the refrigerator for about 4 hours, until set.

Third layer: Dissolve the blueberry gelatin in 1 cup of boiling water, stirring until completely dissolved. Allow it to cool slightly, then pour it over the chilled second layer. Scatter the pint of fresh blueberries evenly over the top, pressing them gently into the gelatin so they stay suspended, and chill for another 4 hours until the top layer is firm.

When fully set, remove the pan from the refrigerator, cut into squares and serve chilled.
Note: If you don’t have strawberry gelatin, cherry or another red-flavored gelatin works fine. Feel free to swap flavors to suit your taste.
